For a change, Minnesota Twins players Orlando Hudson and Denard Span will be trying to get strikes at their new fundraiser: the Twins & Pins Charity Bowling Classic.

Hudson and Span, along with other current and alumni Minnesota Twins players, will hit the lanes at the inaugural event on Thursday, July 29, beginning at 7 p.m. at Brunswick Zone XL located at 7545 Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Park, Minn.

Twins & Pins Charity Bowling Classic was created to raise money for these non-profit beneficiaries:

-- The Friends of St. Paul Baseball
-- The Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM)
-- Curing Autism Through Change and Hope Foundation (C.A.T.C.H.), founded by Hudson

A variety of packages are available for those who would like to participate, including:

Gold Glove – 8 bowlers, 2 celebrity captains and VIP Access for $5,000

Silver Slugger – 4 bowlers, 1 celebrity captain for $2,500

Rookie – A team of 5 bowlers for $1,500

Spares - $625 for a single spot on a celebrity team and $300 for a spot on a non-celebrity team

All packages include personalized bowling shirts, gift bags, team photos, guest passes as well as complementary food and beverage. Plus, every dollar raised benefits great causes that help kids in our community. So show you care and have fun to spare!

About the charities:

The mission of Friends of St. Paul Baseball is to enhance the opportunity for participation in the game of Baseball within the City of St. Paul through updates and enhancements of existing baseball fields, capital improvements, on-going operational support, and the construction of additional baseball facilities. Every dollar raised benefits the more than 5500 St. Paul Rookie & RBI Program, Little League, Babe Ruth, VFW, Legion and Amateur baseball participants each year.

Established in 1971, the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) exists to enhance the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. AuSM seeks to realize its mission through education, support, collaboration and advocacy for individuals and their families within our community.

The C.A.T.C.H Foundation (Curing Autism through Change and Hope) was created by Orlando Hudson in 2008 after a lifetime of experiences with students on the Autism Spectrum. C.A.T.C.H. provides resources and a support system for youth coping with Autism.
